With the recent changes to the forum we have chosen to revise the rules. All rules are 100% binding. At any point a Mod or Admin witnesses a member breaking any rule, a warning will be issued to the offending party. Further action may be taken by Admin staff if there are continued problems regarding an issue a member has been warned about.

Help & News

-Please read the Board FAQ for help using the board.
-For additional help, post questions in the Temple of Lost Souls forum
-Visit the Board News forum often for the latest news about changes/additions to the board.

Signatures & Banners & and other images

-All siggys must follow the guidelines outlined in the Image Guide
-Mods/Admins may edit/suspend siggys in violation of the Image Guide without notice.
-If you want to request a banner, visit the Fan Art forum. Keep in mind request threads are under the specific type of art, so be sure to place your request in the proper thread in the proper sub-forum.
-If you have any doubts about your signature and whether or not it follows guidelines make sure to post in the Siggy Check thread found in the Temple of Lost Souls forum so a moderator/administrator can check it out.
-No hotlinking directly from another site. If you like an image somewhere on the net, either save that image to your pc, then attach it as part of a post here or upload it to a free image host such as Photobucket. Hotlinking is very literally bandwidth theft.
-Fan art theft will not be tollerated on this site if at any point you are discovered to be using any fan art that was not made specifically for you or you have taken without the owners permission we will remove the art and report you to the owner of the piece. You will be given a warning and any futher breaking of this rule will result in banning.

Spoilers/News

-No spoilers on thread titles, not even in the spoiler forum. Instead please include this in the title of all spoiling threads [Spoiler Alert].
-When posting spoilers or news from other sites, be sure to site the source in your post with a link back to the source.

Politeness

While we appreciate members who like to try and be helpful and point out mistakes that may happen. We feel the need to point out that this may cause undue embarrassment or irritation. So in the interests of a happy community can all mistakes please be pointed out via pm, email, or im Thank you

Bashing

-Member, Character, or Actor/Actress bashing is firmly not allowed. Anyone caught doing so will be issued a warning immediately. Anyone caught committing a second offence will be banned for a period of one week. Further problems could result in a total ban from the site.
-All post considered bashing of any kind will automatically be deleted without question.

Posting

-Please chose appropriate names when naming threads. Please refrain from names like “Guess What?” Clearly proper names draw more attention to your thread than weird guessing games.
-When posting try to remain on the topic of the thread. Threads that stray too far from the topic will be closed.
-Avoid excessive use of ALL CAPS, DiStOrTeD TeXt and kewl t@lk.
-Threads posted in wrong forum will be moved. In general the Mod who moved the thread will notify the thread creator or will leave a redirect in the original forum.
-Duplicate threads will be deleted/merged without notice.
-No pornographic, NC-17 or questionable material out side the Adult forum. Keep it Pg-13, guys.
-Please keep foul language to a minimum. Also know that certain words will be blocked by the language sensor. Such words will be replaced with *'s.
-Please refrain from posting a new thread in the Hera's Sitting Room forum every time you reach a posting count milestone. Please place them in the Posting Praise thread. It was made purely for everyone to use for just that purpose, there is no need for individual threads.

Spamming

-Please try to avoid spamming at all times. We understand there are some places were all the replies are considered spam such as the games forum where many of the games require one word answers, that instances is perfectly acceptable. However in general conversational thread and debates, please try to give some substance to your posting. Posts such as “that’s cool” or “that’s nice” are considered spam and in the future spam will cause the Mods/Admins to give out warnings. You will be given the opportunity to go back and edit the post to include substantial thought. Not doing so after said warning will result in the post being deleted.
-No double posting; edit your post if you need to add something else. Double posting will be considered as spam. The only exception to this, is when news items are being updated by Mods/Admins, when an artist is adding to their gallery(s) in the fan art forum, or when a long standing thread in games forum has become stagnate (no posts in the particular thread for more than 15 days) to jump start it.

Private Messages

-PMing in excess or for no reason to the recipient is called PM spam and is not allowed.
-Chain letters through Private Messages is forbidden.
-Bashing, insulting or otherwise is also forbidden via PM and should be reported to an admin immediately.

Post Counts

-In order to keep the boards looking and running great, we will regularly move old threads to an archive area when such threads are no longer needed (once every 30 days or so). This should not affect your post counts. The threads are not deleted merely moved to a “storage” area. This will not affect post counts.
-There are times when Mods/Admins feel a post or thread needs to be deleted for whatever reason. Anytime a post that you have made is deleted, it will be removed from your post count. Do come to expect that over the course of time your post counts could go up or down.

RPGs/Contests/Board Games

-Only Mods/Admins can create and manage RPGs, Contests, and major Board Games.
-As for the current time, we will not offer any RPGs. However if the interest becomes great enough in the future they could be brought back.

Registering/Name Changes

-Only one account per person.
-Duplicate accounts will be deleted.
-Impersonating actors/actresses is strictly prohibited. This is done for the safety of both you and the actor/actress as many of them are actually known for joining and being active members of several sites across the net.
-Name changes are granted but not more often than once every 3 months. Be sure you want it before you change it.
- When you contact an Admin about a name change, please title it "Name Change:" then state whether it is a "Question" or a "Request”.

Advertising/Selling Items

-You may link to your site/board on your siggy and/or profile.
-PMing members advertising your site/board is allowed. However keep it to those members that you consider friends. Don’t just go through the member list and pm everyone.
-Posting new threads advertising your site or board is NOT allowed.
-If you want to post about your site/boards, please do so in the "Site/Board Link" Thread in the Hera's Sitting Room forum.
-You may apply with the site Admins if you would like to have a permanent link added to the affiliates menu. In order to be granted that, you must supply a return link back to Now-n-Then on your site or board.
-Selling items purely for personal gain is not allowed. However selling items for fund raising for a cause that has been deemed legitimate by the Admins is allowed.

Site Staff

-Please do not ask site staff how to become a Mod or Admin. Doing so will only insure that you do not become such in the future. If and when new staff members are needed, they are picked by the current staff looking at the site needs and what each member potentially could offer the site as a whole.
